Having a blog today is a must if you really want to develop a personal presence on the Internet. Once I discovered Google's Blogger, I've never looked back. This website is powered by Blogger...what an elegant, surprisingly simple, user-friendly application.About 10 years ago, I blogged constantly and didn't even know it...I'd spend literally hours creating family updates, journal entries, and photo postings using Adobe Pagemill (Does this software even exist anymore?). Now, with "free" programs like Blogger, I'm updating my websites so effortlessly that I can spend more time "thinking and writing" versus "coding and hacking."
I highly recommend Blogger.com if you want to get started blogging today. And, if you're going to use Blogger, you MUST get Elizabeth Castro's book, "Publishing a Blog with Blogger." Ms. Castro walks you through the process and points out hidden features that might take you years to discover (if ever!). It's published by one of my all-time favorite book publishers, Peachpit Press.
